Regional Technology Assessment Platforms

Civil society organisations, including popular and social movements, are in the process of building collaborative initiatives for the collective evaluation of new and existing technologies, called Technology Assessment Platforms (TAPs).

Assess.technology exists to be a resource for TAPs. This page features the work of three main technology assessment networks in the Global South: AfriTAP (the Africa Technology Assessment Platform), TECLA (the network for the social evaluation of technologies in Latin America) and TAP-AP (Technology Assessment Platform – Asia-Pacific). Work has begun to establish similar TAP initiatives in Europe and North America.
